A POPULAR “pup up” cafe is returning to Southend where dogs can mingle in a safe and secure space while their owners enjoy a cup of tea and a cake.

The Pup Up Cafe is a company which hosts events across the country with fun, toys and socialising for pooches and their owners.

On May 21, at Revolution Southend in Queens Road, there will be three pup up cafe events.

At 10am, there is a session for dachshunds, at 2pm, an event for pugs, and at 4pm, a class for doodles.

Marcus Ackford, event planner at Pup Up Cafe, said: “We are so excited to bring the Pup Up Cafe back to Southend.

“Everyone is always so friendly, and it is such a great day for everyone involved.

“We hope you are all ready for some organised chaos with unlimited treats, puppuccinos, ball pits, and lots of toys for the pooches.

“We are back again as people keep us to return. We always find it is such a lovely crowd in Southend, and we love coming back to see all our regular dog and human faces.”

Pup Up Cafe has been to Southend a number of times over the past five years.

This has seen more than 500 dachshunds, and 250 pugs coming to visit over that time.

The day will be split into sessions for the three chosen dog breeds.

There will be an hour and half per session for stimulation for the dogs, as well as a best dressed competition, and photo opportunities.

Marcus added: “We find an hour and a half is plenty of stimulation for the dogs as most of it is off lead time in a new environment with lots to do.

“I have personally run events like this for almost ten years, and I love doing it.

“I set it up after finding that there weren’t many fun things for people to do with their dogs between big dog festivals like Crufts and a walk in the park.

“I wanted to create something fun that people and dogs of any age can come along to and enjoy themselves in a safe and secure environment with well trained, dog loving staff.

“The events are always fun, smiley and a great escape. What is not to love about a venue full of your favourite dogs?”
