More than 150 dachshunds will be taking over a cocktail bar in Solihull town centre

Tore than 150 dachshunds are expected to descend on Solihull town centre for a pop-up café event dedicated to the stumpy-legged breed.

Cocktail bar The Butterfly Room, in Station Road, will be taken over by sausage dogs on Sunday, November 7 and owners and dog-lovers alike are invited to join in the fun.

Organisers at Pup Up Café have hired out the whole venue for dogs to roam free and there will be ball pits, tunnels, toys and other fun props for pets to enjoy.

Ticket holders can come along at a designated time slot and mingle with up to 50 sausage dogs and their owners each session.

There will be unlimited dog treats available for furry friends, free bottomless “puppucinos”, competitions throughout the day and dachshund-related trade stands to buy goodies.

A spokesperson for Pup Up Cafe said: “With unlimited treats for every pooch in attendance, unlimited puppuccinos, treat stations, local trade stands offering lots of breed related goods for sale, tunnels, ball pits and lots more, we’re very keen for a visit.

“We have been everywhere from Blackpool to Bournemouth and Truro to Glasgow over the past few years with events all around the country planned for 2021.

“If you want to visit alongside the dogs and dog owners, they offer a limited number of ‘regular human’ tickets for the unfortunates that don’t own a pooch.”

The Pup Up Cafes have gone from strength to strength since launching in 2019 and now have nearly 40,000 likes on their Facebook page.

They also run events for French bulldogs, pugs and poodles (and their various crossbreeds).
